Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ الْآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ صِدِّيقًا وَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَكْذِبُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ كَذَّابًا

  جریر نے منصور سے ، انہوں نے ابووائل ( شقیق ) سے ، انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " سچ نیکی اور اچھائی کے راستے پر لے جاتا ہے اور نیکی جنت کی طرف لے جاتی ہے ، ایک آدمی سچ بولتا رہتا ہے حتی کہ وہ اللہ کے ہاں صدیق لکھ دیا جاتا ہے اور جھوٹ فسق و فجور کی طرف لے جاتا ہے اور فسق و فجور ( جہنم کی ) آگ کی طرف لے جاتا ہے اور ایک آدمی جھوٹ بولتا رہتا ہے ، یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک اسے کذاب لکھ دیا جاتا ہے ۔ "
