Hazrat Imam Zain ul Abideen (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) was the only male who survived during the Battle of Karbala. He was the son of Hazrat Imam Hussain (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) and the grandson of Hazrat Ali (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him). According to some narrations, he said that whoever recites Dua e Ashura on the 10th day of Muharram, between sunset and sunrise, or listen to the recitation from anyone else, Allah will make it insurance for 12 months life for him, by keeping his/her death away from him/her. However, if a person is going to become a victim of death in that year, he/she will forget to recite Dua e Ashura in Arabic.
