Hadith On Cats – The domestic cat is regarded as a significant animal in Islam. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) also loves this pet animal that further enhances the blessings of cats in Islam.

As per the Islamic tradition, Muezza or Muizza is the name of the favorite cat of Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him). There is an incident when he cut his piece of cloth but did not disturb his sleeping cat. Cats are not impure as according to one hadith they do not invalidate the prayer.

It is noted that not just the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) but, his companions also love cats as one of the companions is known as Abu Huraira. However, Abu Huraira means father of the kitten. There are several benefits of having a cat in Islam as the caring of cats in the house is the sunnah of both Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and his companions.
